Speaker profile: Dr. James T. Robertson

Topic: The Dynamic Scope and Upper Respiratory Disease of the Equine Athlete

Dr. Robertson is a 1973 graduate of the Western College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan. He trained in Large Animal Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania, New Bolton Center from 1973-76 and was a clinical instructor there from 1976-78. In 1978, he joined the Equine Surgery faculty at The Ohio State University, at the time, headed by Dr. Al Gabel. He became a diplomate of the ACVS in 1981. From 1978 until the time of his retirement from OSU in 2008, Dr. Robertson developed his specialty in Equine soft tissue surgery, particularly Equine upper airway surgery.

Since leaving OSU, Dr. Robertson has continued to do Equine soft tissue surgery as a surgical consultant at a number of practices in Ohio. They include Woodland Run Equine in Grove City, Firethorn Equine in Lancaster, Cleveland Equine Hospital in Ravenna and Lebanon Equine in Lebanon, Ohio.
